HOW LONG DOES IT TAKE

TO MAKE A VIDEO?

Creating an animated video is an involved process and depends on a number of factors, such as the length of your video, your approval processes, and the media the content will go on.

On average, though, a high-quality 2-minute explainer video takes around five weeks to produce*.

*This is a rough estimate only, and the actual production time may vary depending on the length of the video, the approval process involved, and the complexity of the animation. Your producer will give you a more accurate estimate of time once the project commences.

We assign a dedicated project manager to your project who will take you through each of the steps below

Week 1

Writing that fantastic script

The script and research team conduct detailed research on your subject using our behavior change methodology. If your project calls for it, we include consultancy with technical experts who work with you to refine your thematic outlines and develop them into animation-ready scripts.

Setting the mood with mood boards

The creative director creates stunning mood boards and provides visual direction to the written text. These include the color palette, visual style, character, and environment design, font and text scheme, and motion style. We make sure you get a good glimpse into what the future holds.

Week 2

Illustrating the storyboard

Once the script and the mood board are approved, our illustrators set about creating your storyboard so that you can see - keyframe to keyframe, how we intend to bring your video to life.

Onboarding the talent

The producer rounds up the talent and sends you some great voice samples that fit the tone of your project. We try to keep it easy by whittling it down to three top-tier talents that are the best fit for your project, letting you make the final choice.

Week 3

Tweening in the animatic

Next step, each of the beautiful keyframes are colored in and made into screen designs. We then edit together the music, voice-over, and colored keyframes into an animatic. You can be sure, if it walks as an animatic, it will run when it's animated.

Week 4

Drafting the draft

Once you approve the animatic, our talented animators will get down to business bringing each frame to life through the magic of animation.

Week 5

Getting it ready for the limelight

Once the script and the mood board are approved, our illustrators set about creating your storyboard so that you can see - keyframe to keyframe, how we intend to bring your video to life.

The bells and whistles

Our QC team will do a thorough quality check and work with the editor to include open or closed captions based on your preference. The design team will create stunning artwork to include as thumbnails so that your video gets the best possible response when live.
